Newton Drives Borderline Crazy

Seems like crappy weather really brings out the worst in local drivers. Yesterday it was some yahoo driving a green Newton Roofing pickup truck (truck no. 1) who cut me off in the front of the Newton police station on Washington Street.

Then this morning, this jerk in a gray Ford Escort sedan pulls a U-y on Comm ave without signalling. He just pulled off the right side of the road, like he had to look at a map or stop the car, then swerved sharp left, forcing me and the Boston Globe truck in back of me to slam on the brakes.

His car had a bumper sticker on the window, "100% Jesus." Shoulda been "100% idiot."

There is definitely some sort of strange relationship between having strong religious beliefs and driving. I grew up around a seminary and almost inevitably when someone would cut me off, they would have one of those little fish symbols riding on their bumper. The only time I've ever been broadsided, it was a guy who was driving to a church to deliver a sermon and he lost control of his car on the highway. I think some people take that "God is my co-pilot" saying a little too literally.

I am so glad I walk to work. Every time I drive for an errand I encounter at least one bad or inconsiderate driver.

When I get home, I am usually so pissed off at these idiots that I get the urge to play online poker to win money from idiots.

Have anyone ever checked out those Newton Roofing drivers? They are Fugitive aliens with no drivers license. But don't mess with them. The company owns the Newton Law enforcement.
